This policy explains cookies and similar storage on Penny Desktop. For contact messages, calculators, hosting logs, and privacy requests, see our Privacy Policy.
Necessary cookies and separate logs
Cookies used to remember your consent choice, including cmplz_* cookies, help the site respect your choice. Our consent manager is configured to remember a choice for 365 days. Your browser may clear or limit cookies earlier, and a change in our practices may require a new choice. WordPress sign-in cookies support site administrators; visitors do not need to sign in to read articles or use calculators. Hosting access and security logs are separate from browser cookies.
Optional statistics
If you allow Statistics, we use Google Analytics 4 to measure page views, scrolling, and outbound-link clicks to improve the site. Google Analytics may set first-party identifiers such as _ga and _ga_* after that choice. These are pseudonymous identifiers, not a promise of anonymous data. At the default setting, these cookies may last up to two years and may be renewed on later visits; your browser may limit their lifetime.
We exclude signed-in WordPress users and WordPress search-results pages. Automatic form, site-search, video, and file-download events are off. We do not send calculator values or contact-message contents to Analytics. We redact email addresses and selected query parameters, but this cannot guarantee that every personal detail in a URL is removed. Please avoid sensitive information in page addresses.
After you allow Statistics, Google may receive the page URL and title, referral source, browser and device information, and approximate country or region based on technical data. See how Google uses information from sites and apps and Google’s Privacy Policy. Our GA4 event and user data-retention settings are two months. That is different from cookie lifetime and does not guarantee two-month deletion of aggregate reports, provider logs, or backups.
Your choice
Use Accept to allow Statistics, Deny to decline, or View preferences to review and save your choice. You can change it later through Manage consent. Google Analytics is not loaded before you allow Statistics. The consent manager is set to respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Reading articles and using calculators work without optional Analytics. Withdrawing consent stops future optional measurement after the change takes effect, but does not guarantee retroactive deletion of data already received. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser. For a privacy request, use our Contact page without sending sensitive financial details.
Advertising
We do not run Google Ads, AdSense ad placements, or remarketing. Consent for statistics does not authorize advertising, and our statistics consent controls are not a claim of Google-certified CMP or IAB TCF certification. If ads are introduced, we will review the separate disclosure and consent requirements first.
